Live Insect Found in New Jersey High School Lunch

Clarksville, Maryland - A video taken by North Bergen High School students shows a live insect squirming around in a taco salad. A New Jersey high school food vendor says it’s investigating after a couple of students found and took video of a small worm in the taco salad. One girl has posted the video on Instagram, while another boy sent it to NBC 4 New York.
The food vendor for North Bergen High School, Nu-Way Concessionaires, says they are looking in to it and the health department was immediately called. Sal Valenze of Nu-Way Concessionaires said, "This is an isolated incident. We've taken steps to discuss this with our food producers. We are very concerned about what we feed children."
One student, Luis Godreau, said, "I would think they would make sure nothing like that would get inside it. It's crazy to see that inside it." Another student also said that a freshmen made the discovery and took the video to the school’s main office.
Nu- Way Concessionaires believe the small worm made its way into the food during the agricultural process. The batch of food has been pulled from the distribution as a precaution.
